NLM announces the upcoming release of DOCLINE 3.0, currently scheduled
for the morning of October 11, 2006. We anticipate DOCLINE and Loansome
Doc will be unavailable for approximately 1 hour while we release the
latest versions of DOCLINE and Loansome Doc.

Highlights of the release include:

* Alerting users during Borrow when their library reports the requested
title in LinkOut

* Alerting users during Borrow when their library reports the requested
title in DOCLINE serial holdings

* Ability for EFTS participants to generate transaction files for
uploading to EFTS system

* Ability to individually review retired unfilled requests

The Regional Medical Libraries are currently participating in beta
testing of the release. In addition, NLM has invited vendors to
participate in beta testing to allow them to system test their products
which integrate with DOCLINE. The vendors are QuickDOC, Cliosoftware,
ILLiad, Relais, and VDX.
