Detroit Institute of Arts

Join your colleagues for what promises to be an elegant and memorable evening at the Detroit Institute of Arts, a beacon of culture for the Detroit area for well over a century. The DIA’s collection is one of the largest, most significant in the United States, comprising a multicultural and multinational survey of human creativity from prehistory through the 21st century. From the first Van Gogh to enter a U.S. museum (Self-Portrait, 1887), to Diego Rivera’s world-renowned Detroit Industry murals, the collection is known for its quality, range and depth. The DIA recently completed a six-year, $158 million building renovation and expansion to present its world-class collection in a totally new light. The incredible makeover is highlighted by reinstalled galleries, improved labels, interactive activities and high-tech interpretive devices. We’re certain that you’ll be dazzled by the magnificent architecture, dramatic museum atmosphere, and awe-inspiring artwork.

Van Gogh
Rivera Court The evening will begin with a strolling reception in the Rivera Court amid the artist’s famous murals. Enjoy a varied menu that will include whipped potatoes served in martini glasses and a make-your-own salad station. A cash bar will be available. Following dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to partake in docent-led gallery tours and explore the unique Museum Shop.
Photography is permitted in the galleries, so don't forget your camera. You don’t have to be a connoisseur to appreciate the beauty of the “New DIA”. We’re sure you’ll be wowed by the experience!
