Program Committee Goals & Objectives 2003-2004

 

Charge

  • The Committee is responsible for planning and conducting the program portion of the General membership meetings including any luncheon programming if held

  • The Committee consists of at least five regular or institutional members, including the President-Elect who serves as chairperson. Members serve a one-year term.

Objectives

  • To select sites and dates for 2003-2004 General Member ship meetings and the first General membership meeting for 2004/05.

  • To select topics for the 2003-2004 General Member ship meetings of practical and professional interest to the MDMLG membership and to recruit appropriate quality speakers to address those topics.

  • To arrange with the host librarian of each meeting for refreshments, parking, maps, and directions at least two months prior to each meeting.

  • To send the meeting announcement, agenda, map, and directions to the MDMLG Secretary for duplications and mailing one month prior to each meeting and to the Webmaster for posting on the MDMLG website.  Market the program to other local groups when appropriate.

  • To conduct the program portion of each meeting in a professional and efficient manner.

  • To distribute evaluation forms to the attendees at each meeting and to collect and analyze their remarks.

  • To maintain liaison with the MDMLG Professional Development Committee in order to coordinate all educational opportunities offered to the general membership.
