Thursday's MDMLG meeting was very good. Marilyn and company did a wonderful job putting together an informative and interesting discussion.
The general business meeting ran quicker than expected so I decided to end the meeting with a discussion session on issues the meeting attendees wanted to discuss. There was some wonderful topics brought up and I wanted to give the rest of the membership a chance to participate. Therefor I've created posts on a couple of topics discussed at the meeting and I'd like to encourage everyone to add their thoughts by adding comments. After discussion has died down I think I'd like to repost with all the additional information and perhaps we can even add our discussion to the new
HLS-Wiki.

Mary Jo Durivage asked the group if anyone whose hospital had or was applying for
Magnet status participated in the process. Marily K. talked about her experience and discussion turned to teaching Evidence-Based Nursing research and the issues that surrounded that. Your institution does not have to be a Magnet hospital or even applying to join in this discussion. I invite everyone to comment about how we can teach nurses, including issues nurses have with time and getting off the floors.

At Thursday's MDMLG meeting, Mary Carr brought up general questions regarding electronic books. One specific question she had was if she could purchase OVID ebooks without having OVID. The membership wasn't sure.
So, let's discuss electronic books. Discussion could be about, but not limited to platforms (STAT!Ref v. OVID v. AccessMedicine), usage, print v. online book budgets and consortial agreements.
